The Informal Head & Hands Portrait with Tom Root

This is a long-pose portrait painting class class combined with anatomy lectures about the hands, arms, shoulders, neck & head. The goal of the class is to deepen the anatomical and structural understanding of the participants and to provide plenty of opportunity for making paintings of the live model. The poses will reflect the anatomical focus of the lectures. As always, an emphasis will be on presenting the figure as one continuous form, solid in construction, revealed by light, emotionally expressive and thoughtfully designed. The instructor will work alongside students with ongoing demonstrations of these concepts.
